My Work
Greetings my good people, and welcome to my art page.
Who am I?
Who cares?
Because this site isn't about me, it's about my art. Unless you want to buy me to hang on your wall...
Joking apart, I take my art seriously. For me painting is neither therapy nor a fun pastime. It’s hard work and pain. Lots of disappointments and failures, a few successes too. I love painting and I also hate it. The feeling of achieving something is great, but the feeling of failure is devastating.
But since you asked, a couple of words about me.
I live in Kirkkonummi (”Churchmoor”), in the middle of nowhere with ravens, eagles, foxes, moose, and an occasional curious wolf. I used to be an art director by profession, but then one day I woke up and smelled the paint thinner. I quit working for others, to their taste, and started working for me, expressing myself.
My favourite medium is acrylic because it’s quick and easy, but I also use oils. My favourite subjects are humans, specially those who look like they’ve got a story to tell. I do portraits, figures, genre art, and little scenes around people. I did my first figure drawings on my 2nd birthday, and it looks like I’m still on the same path.
I’m not sure what’s so fascinating with people. I’ve been travelling a lot and seen many of the most famous sights in the world. But, for some reason, my camera has always turned towards the local people. Some say humans are the most difficult subject to paint and it might be true. Well, it is comforting to know that there is always more to learn.
But that’s enough about me, how are you?
